The twin boys, dressed in the dark suits of the Turks with long, pale hair tied back in lethal braids, raced through the trees towards the sounds of battle. Behind them, Rude lumbered after them with Reno dogging his footstep, barely keeping up with their inhuman speed.
The sounds of screaming and battle stopped with a bone chilling suddenness, and the twins drew their guns in one smooth motion as they nearly flew into the clearing. They stopped, looking around for any possible threats, but there was only Tseng, a cigarette in his lips and a strange scroll around his shoulders that crackled occasionally as he tried to set his own arm. Nearby was what looked like a puddle of something mixed with black feathers and shredded red leather.
Holstering their guns, Sun and Moon walked over to where Tseng was sitting on the ground. They shook their head at Tseng's show of stubbornness because it was extremely difficult to set one's own arm and expect it to be straight when done. Crouching next to him, Sun gently took the busted arm before setting it with a sharp jerk. The second it was straight, Moon tapped into his Mastered Restore, healing all the injuries Tseng had sustained during his victorious battle with the late Rhapsodos.
The only show of discomfort that Tseng gave was a slight tightening of his jaw before the healing green light settled over his body. Tseng looked at them, brow arched, then murmured something almost thankful as Reno crouched down to light his cigarette for him.
"This Genesis, boss?" Rude asked, staring down at the green liquid slowly merging back into the soil, as the leader of the Turks took a long drag off his cigarette.
"What's left of Rhapsodos. His clones and mutated SOLDIER constructs are probably still around," Tseng muttered tiredly, his words emerging on a cloud of smoke.
"We ran into a few of his SOLDIERs," Sun remarked, rising to his feet and staring around the small battlefield. He was using his ears more than his eyes to see if any enemies were close. A SOLDIER could hide from the sharpest of eyes, but not even they could disguise their heartbeat as anything else.
"It is why we were delayed," added Moon, glancing at Reno and Rude, before grinning at Sun. Perhaps Tseng would give them free reign to hunt. "Orders, sir?"
